As with electromagnets, pneumatic and hydraulic magnets, whose operation is based on the use of oil or air, allow for manufacturing in various forms. An important feature of pneumatic and hydraulic magnets is that these are permanent magnets. Because electricity is not needed to establish a magnetic field, you do not have to deal with the provision of alternative sources of energy or with protection against power grid failure.
